Set up catering

- Gegsy merchants who want to offer catering orders and control how catering pickup and delivery work.
About catering
Catering lets customers place larger, advance orders for pickup or delivery — with their own lead times, fees, and eligible items, separate from your regular menu ordering. You configure all of it on the Catering page under Menu.
Turn catering on
In Catering Settings, turn on Enable catering in app to make catering available to customers.
Pickup settings
Under Pickup Settings:
- Enable Pickup — allow catering pickup orders.
- Required lead time — the minimum notice (in days and hours) a customer must give for a catering pickup order.
- Minimum order amount for pickup (optional) — a minimum subtotal required for catering pickup.
Delivery settings
Under Delivery Settings:
- Enable Delivery — allow catering delivery orders.
- Required lead time — the minimum notice (days and hours) for a catering delivery order.
- Current Delivery Settings — a summary of your active setup: the delivery Mode, Coverage, Delivery Fee, and Minimum Order.
Choose a delivery mode:
- In-House Delivery — your own team delivers the orders.
- Managed Delivery — orders are delivered by a third-party courier partner. Fees vary by distance, order size, and traffic. The courier partner available to you depends on your location.
Delivery coverage is set per location using Delivery Zones (a radius or a custom area). Select Manage delivery zones to set them; in-house delivery falls back to roughly a 10-mile radius when no zone is set.
You can also set custom delivery fees:
- Enable custom delivery fees — turn on a custom fee.
- Fee label (optional) — a name shown to customers (for example, "Convenience fee").
- Delivery Fee — the amount to charge.
- Minimum order amount for delivery (optional) — a minimum subtotal for catering delivery.
- Waive delivery fee — waive the fee when you choose.
Choose eligible categories and items
In Eligible Categories & Items, control what's available for catering. Items appear in a catering cart only when their category is enabled here.
- Catering categories — select Manage to choose which categories are available for catering.
- Catering items — select Manage to choose which items are available.
Choose which locations offer catering
In Eligible Locations, toggle which of your locations can accept catering orders. The summary shows how many of your locations are selected.
