Set up pickup for a location
Turn on pickup and curbside for a single location, set pickup hours, prep time, and pickup instructions from the Pickup tab of the location editor.
Who is this article for?
- Gegsy merchants who want to control how customers pick up orders at one specific location.
About pickup settings
The Pickup tab in a location's editor controls whether that location offers pickup and curbside pickup, the hours pickup is available, how long the location needs to prepare an order, and any instructions customers or couriers should see. These settings apply to this location only.
If you run several locations, each one has its own Pickup tab, so you can offer pickup at some locations and not others, or use different hours and prep times for each.
These settings are different from your account-wide pickup defaults in Operations → Pickup (Set up pickup). The Operations defaults set the baseline for your business; the Pickup tab here lets you tailor pickup for an individual location.
Before you begin
- This feature is available on all plans.
- Editing locations is controlled by the Locations permission. Account owners have it by default and can grant it to team members from Account → Team.
Open the Pickup tab
- Open Locations at https://app.gegsy.com/locations.
- Find the location you want to edit and select the pencil (Edit) on its row.
- In the editor, open the Pickup tab.
Turn pickup on or off
The top section is headed Pickup, with the note Choose how customers pick up orders at this location.
- Do you want to offer Pickup? — turn this on to let customers place pickup orders at this location. Turn it off to stop offering pickup here.
- Do you want to offer Curbside Pickup? — turn this on to let customers wait in their car and have orders brought out to them. This is in addition to standard pickup.
Select Save changes when you're done to apply your updates.
Set pickup hours
Pickup hours decide when customers can place pickup orders at this location.
Match your Square hours
- Match your business hours on Square for pickup at this location — turn this on to keep pickup hours in step with the location's business hours from Square. When this is on, the Fulfillment Hours section follows your Square hours automatically and can't be edited directly. If you change your hours in Square, pickup hours update to match.
When matching is on, you'll see a note in the Fulfillment Hours section: These hours follow your Square business hours. Turn off "Match Square hours" above to edit them.
Set custom hours per day
Turn Match your business hours on Square for pickup at this location off to set pickup hours yourself in the Fulfillment Hours section. For each day of the week you can:
- Mark the day as Closed, or
- Add one or more time slots with a Start and End time using Add time slot.
- Use Remove time slot to delete a slot you no longer need.
You can add more than one slot per day — for example, a lunch window and a dinner window. The editor flags overlapping or invalid slots so you can fix them before saving.
Set the prep time
The Time Intervals section sets how much lead time the location needs before a pickup order is ready. The helper text reads Set the time needed to prepare orders.
Choose a value from the dropdown (shown in minutes). Customers see pickup times that account for this prep time, so orders aren't promised sooner than the location can have them ready.
Add pickup instructions
The Pickup Instructions section is a free-text note shown to customers and couriers when they come to collect an order. The placeholder reads Add any instructions customers or couriers should know when picking up an order.
Use it for guidance like where to park, which door to use, or where the pickup shelf is. There's a limit of 280 characters, and a counter shows how many you've used.
Save your changes
Select Save changes to apply everything on the Pickup tab. Your pickup, curbside, hours, prep time, and instructions for this location take effect right away.
