Set restricted dates for a location

Block holidays and closures for a location so customers can't place pickup or delivery orders on those dates, with optional yearly repeat.

Who is this article for?

  • Merchants who want to close a location for holidays, vacations, or one-off closures so customers can't order on those dates.

About restricted dates

Restricted dates are the days of the year when a location won't accept orders. On a restricted date, customers can't choose that location for Pickup or Delivery, so it's the way to close for holidays, vacations, or any planned downtime without turning the location off entirely.

You manage them on the Restricted Dates tab of the per-location editor. Each restricted date can optionally repeat every year, which is handy for fixed holidays.

Before you begin

  • Restricted dates are available on all plans.
  • You need the Locations permission. Account owners have it by default and can grant it to team members from Account → Team.

Open the Restricted Dates tab

  1. Open Locations (https://app.gegsy.com/locations).
  2. Find the location you want to update and select Edit (the pencil icon) on its row.
  3. In the editor, open the Restricted Dates tab.

The tab opens with the heading Restricted Dates and the description Select the days of the year when this location will not be fulfilling pickup & delivery orders. If you haven't added any yet, you'll see No restricted dates yet.

Add a restricted date

  1. On the Restricted Dates tab, select Add a Date.
  2. A new row appears with a date picker. Choose the date you want to block.
  3. To block the same day every year, turn on Repeat every year for that row.
  4. Repeat for any other dates you want to block.
  5. Select Save changes to apply.

Each date is its own row, so you can add as many as you need. Use one row per closure, and turn on Repeat every year for recurring holidays so you don't have to re-enter them next year.

How restricted dates affect customers

A restricted date applies to both Pickup and Delivery at that location — there's no separate setting per fulfillment method. When a date is restricted, customers can't place an order for that location on that date. Dates with Repeat every year turned on stay blocked on the same calendar day in future years.

Remove a restricted date

  1. On the Restricted Dates tab, find the row for the date you want to reopen.
  2. Select the Delete (trash) icon on that row.
  3. Select Save changes to apply.

Once you remove a date and save, customers can order for that day again.
