Use the app toolkit
Use the Gegsy App Toolkit to share download links, your storefront URL, and a QR code, and to add smart app banners to your Square site.
Who is this article for?
- Gegsy merchants who want to promote their app and storefront with ready-made download links, a QR code, and embeddable smart app banners.
About the App Toolkit
The App Toolkit gives you ready-to-share links and copy-and-paste code for promoting your Gegsy app and web storefront. From one screen you can grab your App Store and Google Play download badges, your storefront URL, a QR code that points customers to your app landing page, and the snippets needed to add native app banners to your Square site. The links and snippets are generated from your account, so they're already filled in with your app and store details.
Before you begin
- Open Operations → App Toolkit at
https://app.gegsy.com/operations/app-toolkit. - The App Toolkit is available on all plans. Access is gated by the App Toolkit permission. Account owners have it by default and can grant it to employees.
- Some tools only fill in once the related detail exists on your account. Where a value isn't ready yet, the card shows Check back for the code in place of the snippet.
Get the app
The Get the app section holds four cards for sharing your app and storefront.
- iOS App Download — labeled Available on the App Store. Shows the Download on the App Store badge. Click the badge to open your app's App Store listing, and use the copy button on the snippet below it to copy the HTML for embedding the badge on your own site.
- Android App Download — labeled Get it on Google Play. Shows the Get it on Google Play badge. Click the badge to open your Google Play listing, and copy the embeddable badge HTML from the snippet below it.
- Gegsy Storefront — "Your web storefront lets customers browse your menu and place orders directly from their browser — no app download needed." This card shows your storefront URL with a copy button (Copy storefront URL). If you've linked a custom domain, the toolkit uses that; otherwise it shows your
.gegsy.appstorefront address. - QR Code to App — "Send customers to your Gegsy app landing page where they can download your app." Displays a scannable QR code that points to your app landing page. Print it or add it to in-store signage so customers can scan and download.
Each download badge and the storefront URL has a copy button. After you copy, the button briefly confirms with Copied to clipboard!
