Set up order placement

Control when customers can order in your Gegsy app — choose future or same-day scheduling, set how far ahead orders can be placed, and auto-complete pickups.

Who is this article for?

  • Gegsy merchants who want to control how far in advance customers can schedule orders.
  • Owners and employees who manage operations settings.

About order placement

Order placement controls when customers can place orders in your app — whether they can schedule for a future date or only for the same day, and how far ahead future orders are allowed. You can also turn on a duration that automatically completes in-progress pickup fulfillments after a set amount of time.

Open Operations → Order Placement (https://app.gegsy.com/operations/order-placement).

Before you begin

  • Order placement is available on every plan.
  • Access is gated by the Order Placement permission. Account owners have it by default and can grant it to employees who manage operations settings.

Set your scheduling preference

The Order placement preferences card controls how far in advance customers can schedule orders. Pick one of the two options:

  1. Allow future orders — Enable customers to schedule orders ahead of time.
  2. Same day orders only — Require orders to be placed for the same day.

Select the option that matches how you want to take orders.

Set the maximum future days

When Allow future orders is selected, the Maximum future days field appears.

  1. In Maximum future days, enter how many days ahead customers can schedule.
  2. Enter a value between 7 and 365 — the helper text reads "Enter a value between 7 and 365." Values outside that range are rejected, and the screen clamps the saved value to the allowed range.

Auto-complete pickup fulfillments

The Auto complete duration card lets you set the duration after which in-progress pickup fulfillments are automatically completed.

  1. Turn on the toggle. When off it reads Inactive; when on it reads Active.
  2. While active, set the duration using the Days, Hours, and Minutes fields. At least one of these must have a value when the toggle is active.
  3. Below the fields, the screen shows a plain-language summary of the duration you set (for example, 2 days, 12 hours, 30 minutes), or Not set if you haven't entered one yet.

This setting applies to pickup fulfillments. The same-day and future settings above govern when customers can place orders; this one governs when an unfinished pickup order is closed out automatically.

Save your changes

When you're done, select Save changes. Your scheduling preference, maximum future days, and auto-complete duration are saved together.
