View form submissions

View, search, read, reply to, and delete contact form submissions sent from your Gegsy storefront. Learn how to manage Form Submissions here.

Who is this article for?

  • Gegsy merchants who collect messages through a contact form on their web storefront and want to read, reply to, and manage those submissions.

About form submissions

When a visitor fills out a contact form on your storefront, their message is delivered here so you have one place to read and act on it. Open Storefront → Form Submissions (https://app.gegsy.com/storefront/forms) to see every submission your site has received.

Contact forms are added to your storefront from the Designer using the Contact Form section. The notification email you set on that section also receives a copy of each submission by email, so this page is the searchable record of everything that has come in.

Before you begin

  • Available on the Pro and Premium plans. See Gegsy pricing for details.
  • Access is controlled by the Form Submissions permission. Account owners have it by default and can grant it to employees who should manage submissions.
  • If you have not received any submissions yet, the page shows No submissions yet with the note: "When visitors submit a contact form on your storefront, their messages will appear here."

Find and filter submissions

Submissions are listed newest activity first, with unread ones highlighted and marked by a blue dot.

  • Search submissions... — type in the search box to filter by the submitter's name, email, or message text.
  • All — shows every submission.
  • Unread — shows only submissions you have not opened yet. When there are unread submissions, this button shows the count, for example Unread (3).
  • Read — shows only submissions you have already opened.

A count on the right tells you how many submissions match the current view (for example, 5 submissions).

Each row in the list shows:

  • The submitter's name (or Anonymous if no name was provided), with their email and phone shown alongside when available.
  • A one-line preview of the message.
  • The page the form was submitted from, shown as a small tag.
  • A paperclip icon with a number when the submission includes file attachments.
  • A fields count (for example, 4 fields) for how many fields were filled in.
  • The date and time the submission was received.

View a submission

Click any row to open the full submission. Opening an unread submission automatically marks it as read.

The detail view shows the date and time, the page it came from, and every field the visitor filled in with its label and value:

  • File fields list each attachment. Click an attachment to open or download it; image attachments show a thumbnail.
  • Address fields show the address and a View on map link that opens it in Google Maps.
  • All other fields show their typed value.

Click Close to return to the list.

Reply to a submission

When a submission includes an email address, the detail view shows a Reply button. Clicking it opens a new message in your email app, pre-addressed to the submitter with a subject line and the original submission quoted underneath, so you can respond directly.

Delete submissions

Deleting a submission permanently removes it and cannot be undone.

  • Delete one — click the trash icon on a row (or open the submission first). Confirm in the Delete Submission dialog, which asks "Are you sure you want to delete this submission from [name]?"
  • Delete several at once — use the checkboxes to select submissions. Use the checkbox in the list header to Select all (or to clear your selection); the header then shows how many are selected. Click the Delete button that appears with the count, then confirm in the dialog.
