Update a customer's status

  • Gegsy merchants who want to mark a customer as active or inactive — for example, to flag a customer for fraud or repeated issues.

About customer status

Every customer in your directory has a status — Active or Inactive. Marking a customer Inactive lets you flag a problem customer and record why (for example, fraud or disputed transactions). You can change a customer's status at any time from their profile.

Update a customer's status

  1. Go to Customers → Customers and select the customer you want to update.
  2. On the Customer Details page, select Update Status at the top of the Customer Profile card.
  3. In the Update Customer Status dialog, choose a Status:
    • Active — the customer's normal, default status.
    • Inactive — flags the customer as inactive.
  4. If you set the status to Inactive, choose a Reason:
    • Fraud
    • Too Many Returns
    • Disputed Transactions
    • Other
  5. Select Update to save your change, or Cancel to discard it.

The customer's status badge updates on their profile and in the customer directory.
