Track downloads, active devices, sessions, crash rate, and ratings for your branded iOS and Android app on the App Metrics page.
Who is this article for?
- Gegsy merchants who have a branded mobile app and want to see how it's performing on the App Store and Google Play.
- Owners and employees who have been granted the App Metrics permission.
About app metrics
The App Metrics page shows how your branded mobile app is doing across iOS and Android. You can track downloads, active devices, sessions, crash rate, and store ratings over a date range you choose, broken down by platform. Use it to gauge adoption and spot problems like a rising crash rate.
Metrics are collected by a daily sync, so the most recent day or two may not be reflected yet.
Before you begin
- Open Mobile App → App Metrics (
https://app.gegsy.com/mobile-app/metrics). - App Metrics is available on all plans.
- Access is controlled by the App Metrics permission. Account owners have it by default and can grant it to employees.
- If no data has been collected yet, the page shows No app metrics data available yet. with the note Metrics will appear here once the daily sync has run. Check back after the next daily sync.
Filter your metrics
At the top of the page, two filters control everything below them:
- Platform — choose All Platforms, iOS, or Android. This filters the KPI cards and the charts to a single platform, or shows both together.
- Date — pick the date range you want to report on. The page defaults to the current month.
The KPI cards, charts, and exports all update to match your filter selections.
Understand the KPI cards
A row of summary cards reflects your current Platform and Date selections:
- Total Downloads — the total number of app downloads in the selected date range.
- New Downloads — new app downloads in the selected date range.
- Active Devices — devices actively using the app.
- Sessions — the number of app sessions (times the app was opened and used).
- Crash Rate — the share of sessions that ended in a crash, shown as a percentage. A low rate is healthy; a higher rate is highlighted so it stands out.
- Avg Rating — the average store rating, shown with a star. When Platform is set to All Platforms, this combines iOS and Android into a single rating weighted by how many ratings each store has. When you filter to iOS or Android, it shows that store's rating on its own.
Read the charts
Below the KPI cards are four charts. The line charts plot one line per platform: when All Platforms is selected you'll see an iOS line, an Android line, and a Combined line (the Combined line is dashed). Filtering to a single platform shows just that platform's line.
- Downloads Over Time — daily downloads across the selected date range.
- Active Devices Over Time — how active devices trend over the date range.
- Platform Split — a donut chart showing the share of downloads coming from iOS versus Android. If there are no downloads in the range, it shows No app metrics data available yet.
- Sessions Over Time — daily app sessions across the date range.
Export your metrics
You can download the data shown on the page using the buttons at the top:
- CSV — exports the metrics and summary for the selected date range and platform as a spreadsheet file.
- PDF — exports the page as a PDF report.
Both exports respect your current filters. They're unavailable while an export is running or when there's no data to export.
