Block a delivery address

Use Blocked Addresses in Gegsy to stop deliveries to specific addresses, add a reason for your records, and remove a block when it's no longer needed.

Who is this article for?

  • Gegsy merchants who want to stop deliveries to a specific address tied to fraud, chargebacks, or repeated problems.
  • Owners and employees who have the Blocked Addresses permission.

About Blocked Addresses

Blocked Addresses lets you stop deliveries to a specific address. Once an address is on the list, deliveries to it are blocked at checkout, which helps protect your business from fraudulent activity. You can add a private reason for your records and remove a block at any time.

Find it at Fraud Tools → Blocked Addresses (https://app.gegsy.com/fraud-tools/blocked-addresses). The page header reads Manage addresses that are blocked from receiving deliveries.

Before you begin

  • Available on all plans.
  • This page is gated by the Blocked Addresses permission. Account owners have it by default and can grant it to employees.
  • Address lookup uses Google Maps Places autocomplete. If the map service can't load, the page shows Error loading Google Maps: — check your connection and try again.

Block an address

  1. Open Fraud Tools → Blocked Addresses.
  2. Select Block Address in the top-right corner. (If your list is empty, you can also use Block Your First Address.) This opens the Block Delivery Address dialog.
  3. In the Address field, start typing the address. The helper text reads Use the autocomplete to select a valid address — pick a result from the dropdown rather than typing the address freehand. The placeholder shows Start typing an address...
  4. After you choose a result, a confirmation panel appears showing the Selected Address: and its Coordinates: so you can confirm you picked the right place.
  5. (Optional) In Reason (Optional), add a note. The helper text reads Provide a reason for blocking this address for your records, and the placeholder suggests e.g., Fraudulent activity, repeated chargebacks, etc. This reason is for your records only.
  6. Select Block Address to save, or Cancel to close without blocking.

The Address field is required. If you select Block Address without choosing a valid address from the dropdown, you'll see Address is required or Please select a valid address from the dropdown.

Review your blocked addresses

The list shows one row per blocked address, 25 per page, with these columns:

  • Address — the full address you selected.
  • Locality — the city or locality.
  • Postal Code — the postal/ZIP code.
  • Reason — the note you added, or No reason provided if you left it blank.
  • Blocked Date — when the address was added to the list.
  • Action — the Remove button for that row.

When there are no blocked addresses yet, the page shows No blocked addresses with the note You haven't blocked any addresses yet. and a Block Your First Address button.

Remove a block

  1. Find the address in the list and select Remove in its Action column.
  2. In the Confirm Removal dialog, review the address (and reason, if one was set). The dialog asks Are you sure you want to unblock this address? and notes Deliveries to this address will be allowed again.
  3. Select Remove Block to confirm, or Cancel to keep the block in place.

Removing a block can't be undone from this dialog — if you change your mind later, you'll need to block the address again. After you confirm, you'll see Address unblocked successfully and deliveries to that address are allowed once more.
